Not Rain Nor Tigers Basketball Kept the Kids From Their Eggs!

March 20, 2013

test-100x116Apparently not much can keep the kids away from a good Egg Hunt thankfully!

Our annual Egg Extravaganza was still a big success despite all of the deterrences! Over 200 were in attendance, including 21 awesome volunteers! After the big egg search we moved inside the Bickford Community Center to extend the fun with snow cones, basketball, moon bounces, and a moving message about the true meaning of Easter taught by Oasis staffer, Martell Hixson, Youth Developer.

Check out our Oasis Egg Hunt Slideshow! Feel free to share pics on your Facebook pages; just tag Oasis of Hope!

Whew … it was another successful year!

Thank you everyone!

2,500 Eggs … 300 Kids … 500 Snow Cones – A Great Day!

May 07, 2012

kids at easter egg huntWe would like to send a huge “thank you” to all our volunteers who helped with our Oasis Easter Egg Hunt at Bickford Park! The weather was great and smiles were big as over 300 kids hunted 2500 eggs!  One of the best aspects of the day came through neighborhood partner, Kingdom Life Church.  Their team worked alongside our volunteers to set-up, place eggs, play with kids, clean up and serve the community with great love.  Pastor Mike Arnold brought the whole event back to focus with a compelling message about Christ’s sacrifice for us. Special thanks to Gary and Carol Adams for making over 500 snow cones, keeping everyone cool in the warm sun.  Also,  thank you to all of you who donated baskets, eggs, and candy.  Your generosity helped us make this a special event for many children.

Easter Egg Hunts Drew Over 650 Kids; The Biggest We’ve Had!

April 30, 2010

Despite having to reschedule the Easter Egg Hunts due to storms, it was still a great success and we had a huge turn-out of kids in attendance!!  Imagine all the candy and eggs needed for 425 students from the KIPP Accademy Hunt and 250 children from the Community Hunt!!  Thank you again to all of our wonderful volunteers for your donations of eggs and candy and for being so flexible and making this tradition so much fun!
