Sign Up with Amazon Smile and Re-Enroll Your Kroger Card

April 30, 2017

kroger 275x303Kroger Requires You to Re-Enroll Your Desired Non-Profit Each January: Shop at Kroger and Donate 3-5% without writing a check!

Each January 1st, all Kroger Community Reward Participants are required to renew their organization of choice to receive Kroger reward payments. We are hoping you will choose Oasis of Hope!

It may seem like a small act, but it’s a huge help! Designating Oasis of Hope on your Kroger card allows you to donate to our ministry each time you shop for groceries or buy gas!

For example, if 2,500 people spent $100, Oasis could receive a total of $7,500!

We can do a lot of ministry with that!

It takes about 3 minutes and registering your Kroger Plus Card is easier than ever:

If you already have an existing Kroger account:

  1. Sign in to your Kroger account at www.kroger.com/communityrewards
  2. Click ‘View Your Rewards Details,’ edit your Community Rewards, and search for ‘Oasis of Hope’ (or 80469). Click ‘enroll’

If you are registering your Kroger account for the first time:

  1. Creat an account at www.kroger.com/communityrewards
  2. Follow the prompts to enter your email, password, & address.
  3. Click ‘View Your Rewards Details’ and designate Oasis of Hope as your Community Rewards recipient by typing ‘Oasis of Hope’ in the Search box (or #80469). Click ‘enroll’

That’s it!

amazon-smile-logo110x116AmazonSmile will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to Oasis of Hope! Same products, same service!

To designate your existing Amazon account:

  1. Go to www.smile.amazon.com (email/password); click ‘Sign In’
  2. Type “Oasis of Hope” in the search field (Cordova, TN) & select … then Start Shopping! From then on Amazon will remind you to sign in with using the ‘Smile’ site every time you log on.

Shop online via Smile.Amazon.com rather than Amazon.com. Smile.Amazon.com has the same products, prices, and service as Amazon.com, and Oasis of Hope will receive a donation from Amazon equal to .5% of your purchases placed through Smile.Amazon.com.

Invite family and friends from across the country to support Oasis of Hope by designating Oasis of Hope, Inc. on their Amazon account and shop through Smile.Amazon.com.

Oasis and Hope Partner with Habitat for Humanity!

March 01, 2016

habitat-oasis-banner-web500Oasis of Hope and Hope Church partner with Habitat for Humanity in building 25 new homes for families in Uptown/North Memphis!

Through a strategic partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis, God is paving the way for many families to have new, quality, and affordable places to call home.

Today, November 2, former President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn, announced that Oasis’ site, Bearwater Park, will be the focus of their 2016 build (read Habitat’s Facebook post here). This means that 25 new homes at our subdivision will be going up to complete the next building phase, bringing our total to 35 homes! We are beyond honored to partner together to make a significant difference in our North Memphis community!

There will be numerous volunteer opportunities to work on this project alongside the former president and other habitat-oasis-eli-rufus-tercelebrities in the new year (such as Garth Brooks and Tricia Yearwood who were also present today).

Please join us in praying for this outreach and that the myriad of details will come together to make this a reality, and that God will connect the families of His choosing to be able to call this new subdivision a warm neighborhood and home.

Get your hammers ready!

No Slumlords Anymore; We Do Business Differently at BWP!

February 24, 2015

BWP-Martell-500God has blessed Oasis of Hope in amazing ways this past year!

One of those ways was through your financial generosity and support, especially in regards to building safe, affordable housing through our Bearwater Park (BWP) housing project (Phase One completed/10 homes … Phase Two is in the planning stages/5 homes).

This development is a blessing on multiple levels. Families in our low income neighborhood now have quality, affordable places to raise their children instead of the drug & gang infested apartments that used to stand here. They have immediate access to all the services and opportunities Oasis provides. In essence, your financial gifts keep on giving!

Thanks to all of our generous donors, we raised not only the $75,000 to match the challenge gift for Bearwater Park, but an additional $40,000 came in! Beyond that many donors gave to other aspects of the ministry, so the grand total of the gifts was more than $215,000! This greatly reduces the loan we need to secure to start building Phase 2. Lord willing, soon more families will have a beautiful/safe/affordable place to call home in the neighborhood.bearwater-park-housing-100x

If you are interested in filling out an application to live in one of these homes, please contact our management company, Frayser Community Development Corporation.

As a prayer request – there are still some hurdles that need to be overcome with the engineering approvals. Please pray for God’s favor and provision as we go through the process required.

Bearwater Park Phase 1: Done and Debt Free! Now Phase 2

January 23, 2014

bearwater-park-100x116We are singing God’s praises this year as He has provided the means to complete the First Phase of Bearwater Park! We were committed to paying back the final $70,000 on the construction loan by December 31, 2013. Some donors had graciously given a $35,000 matching grant to help us get there. Well, on December 30, we were still more than $20,000 short of being able to pay off our loan. We decided to wait to see what came in on the last day and talk about a miracle – not only did enough come in on that final day to cover our debt, but there was even a little left over to go to the ministry! God is SOOOOO good.

Over the course of this now 6 year project, through the grants from the City, help from foundations, and gifts from generous donors we have been able to complete the first 10 units – 4 single family homes and 3 duplexes. Nine families have moved in and call it HOME! Some of the children and adults living here are involved in our programs. In addition, our Youth Developer, Martell Hixson, has moved into one of the homes to be in the community as well and have a deeper impact on the youth he serves.

Click here to view a video about the project and see more of the story behind the scenes.

The development continues … we just received a partial grant from the State of TN to build 4 more homes! The entire site can hold up to 51 homes, so stay with us as we continue to seek God’s help in transforming our community into one that families want to call home and brings glory to the Lord by building one house at a time. We will need to raise more than $100,000 as a match to this grant, so your prayers and contributions will continue to be earnestly sought.

The development is a blessing on multiple levels. Families in our low income neighborhood now have quality, affordable places to raise their children. They have immediate access to all the services and opportunities Oasis provides. Contributions that donors gave to the project not only created the homes, but now any rent above maintenance and reserve needs can go back into the ministry. In essence, your financial gifts keep on giving!

If you are interested in filling out an application to live in one of these homes, please contact our management company, Northern Inc at 901/526-7155 or stop in at there office located at 62 Union Ave.

Bearwater Park (Phase One) has had a Phenomenal Year

January 08, 2014

bearwater-park-100x116We are singing God’s praises this year as He has provided the means to complete the first Phase of Bearwater Park!

Through the grants from the City, help from foundations and gifts from generous donors we were able to complete the first 10 units – 4 single family homes and 3 duplexes. In addition, our Youth Developer, Martell Hixson, has moved into one of the homes to be in the community and have a deeper impact on the youth he serves.

The development is a blessing on multiple levels. However, we do still have a relatively small balance to pay in order to have phase 1 completely debt free and any donation would be greatly appreciated.
