As the director of the Seniors Ministry program at the Bickford Community Center, I recognize how important it is to meet the many needs of our seniors, including exercise and helping them to be more active. One fun way to get everyone up and moving is through line dancing! Thankfully, I was able to find the right person to lead this activity; her name is Mrs. Jessie Jones and I am so honored to have her! Mrs. Jones works closely with our seniors, teaches them the dance steps, and gets them moving more. The great thing about line dancing is that it has the ability to improve stamina, muscle tone, restore coordination, reduce stress, and invigorate major organs from the brain, right down to the toes. You can even cover five miles of ground in one session and burn approximate 356 calories? Now that’s what I call an active group!
