FedEx Volunteers to Help at Hope Again’s Soft Opening

April 03, 2013

hope-again-fed-ex-500webWhat a great day we had last week for our soft opening!

One hour before opening and clothes still needed to be sized, floors dusted, windows washed, and music setup to play. We were gifted several volunteers to assist us from The FedEx Cares Team who acted as Hope’s extended family and intuitively began doing all these things. Before we opened the doors, we began with a prayer that Hope Again and its volunteers would be in God’s hands.

As a steady stream of customers came in for the first time, the FedEx Cares Team greeted them with the warmest of welcomes. The Fed Ex Team even submitted paperwork for Hope Again and its mission to be entered into the ‘FedEx Cares’ competition for a possible prize donation of $1000 for the store.

We felt like we had made new friends and want them to know how much their bright personalities lit up the store. We hope to see them again anytime they’re in the area! – Store Manager, Diane Raburn

Please join us for our Grand Opening, Tuesday, April 16th at 10am and shop for a cause!

There are many ways you can get involved in this exciting new venture:

  1. DONATE your gently used furniture, kitchen wares, appliances, toys, art, clothes (washed, no stains, on hangers please), etc. We are looking for nice quality items. Bring donations to our receiving bay (Suite 101 behind Humdinger’s) on Mon/Wed/Sat between 10am-4pm, or to the truck in front of Hope during the weekend services.  If the items will not fit in your car, contact or 901.527.0074 to schedule a pick-up.
  2. VOLUNTEER to work retail in the store, or in the receiving/sorting bay. Without hundreds of regular volunteers, the store will not be able to operate efficiently and effectively.
  3. SCOUT for deals with companies, stores, real estate sales, going-out-of-business close-outs, etc. that might be willing to donate or drastically reduce goods for pennies-on-the-dollar.
  4. SHOP in our store!

Proceeds from the store go toward local, national and global mission projects. For more information see our website or Facebook page.
