In conjunction with the Oasis Fall Festival, The Oasis Bike Shop held its first Bike Rodeo in the North Memphis neighborhood. It was a beautiful day and turned out to be a great event! The Bike Shop in partnership with the Greater Memphis Greenline promoted safe biking by giving away a total of 107 bike helmets to deserving kids. A very special thanks to Kathy Green for the many hours she put into planning this fun event!
God provided for this year’s Fall Festival in special ways: First, it rained in the days prior and the day after, but during the celebration we had a sunny, 80 degree day. Second, at the last minute, a company with Hope connections donated hundreds of toy prizes for the kids’ games. Third, our new Youth Developer, Martell Hixson, had the opportunity to meet many more neighborhood kids and parents as well as share a brief, personal testimony.
Our neighborhood teen phenomenon singer, Terrian Bass, blew the crowd away! Look for her in the future as she’s been successful in theater and singing competitions!
The Bike Ministry held a bike rodeo and had more than 100 kids participate in the course and training session, as well as, receive new bike helmets!
Thank you to ALL our volunteer who helped make this fun annual event such a blast!
