Oasis Hires A Youth Developer; Meet Martell Hixson

September 19, 2012

My passion for urban youth ministry stems from my background. I grew up in an urban context and became well acquainted with all the pain and confusion that many urban teens feel daily. I also saw the creative minds and passionate hearts of young people in urban culture. I’ve come to believe that some of our greatest future leaders will come that context. I want to be apart of raising them up.

A New Opportunity to Impact Memphis & our World for Christ

September 13, 2012

Hope’s Missions Departments (Global, Urban and Oasis of Hope) have an exciting new opportunity for you to pray about and consider. Maybe you’ve always wanted to go overseas on a Missions Trip, but the finances or time has just not been there; or maybe you’ve wanted to make a bigger difference in Memphis for Christ, but your job has prevented you from being available for many of our outreaches; or maybe the unfamiliarity of the urban scene has been a barrier for you?

No matter what your story is – Hope is praying about, and planning for, an entirely new way for you to give to and participate in Missions. Hope is considering opening a slightly upscale thrift store near the church.

But we can NOT do this without your help! Two of the keys to making this outreach work are DONATIONS and VOLUNTEERS. We need hundreds of volunteers in many areas of the venture including: store set -up, construction, display, sorting, cleaning, pricing, communications, sales, promotion, pick-up & delivery, office work, etc. All skill levels are welcome, and there will be flexible time options, including Saturdays.

We especially need volunteers with retail experience. If you have this background, please consider being involved in this opportunity to

impact more people for Christ.

We will be having a volunteer information meeting on TUESDAY, SEPT 25, at 6PM in the South Hall at Hope. Please reply back if you are planning on attending.

God’s Blessings,

Terry Hoff
