ManRise Football Camp Wraps Up and the Season Begins

August 04, 2012

What a great Football Camp we had! Check out our camp slideshow. The Manassas Tigers look ready for the season – thanks to help from the Hope Kitchen ministry, 22 awesome volunteers, the Manassas Football coaching staff, Hope Church’s student ministry (who let us use their space), ManRise, Germantown Baptist Church and Burger King! For 3 days Hope Church was turned into a football training facility that not only brought the team together to go over football fundamentals, but also faith fundamentals. Guest speakers shared God’s word with the young men, and small group sessions provided opportunities to take discussions to a deeper level. Their bodies were challenged, their souls were encouraged, and their bellies were fed! They even had the opportunity to scrimmage other teams, some from higher divisions, and they more than held their own and are looking forward to a very successful season!

The ministry goes on. If you would like to partner with Oasis and the Manassas Football Team, there are still many opportunities in various capacities. First of all, we want as many people as possible to come cheer on our guys at their games this year (see schedule) … or you can help by providing a tailgating meal the day before one of their games after practice at Manassas High … or if you have coaching experience, you may even be able to spend some time with the kids at practices. Our hope is to connect you with one player and for you to be an encouragement to each other.

For more information, contact Terrice Thomas, or call her at 901-527-0074.
