In 2003 Oasis of Hope leased a home directly across the street from Caldwell Elementary School (now called KIPP Academy) so that we could be a visible and helpful presence in the community. Due to the color we painted this house, green, the nickname ‘The Green House' aptly applied. From this location we are able to offer after-school tutoring and reading programs, as well as provide a safe hangout for local kids and their families to come to.

In 2007 we realized we were quickly outgrowing The Green House and had an opportunity to purchase another building just down the street. We have recently finished renovating this property and are in process of developing a Youth Program for teens that will operate from here. 'In the Cut' stuck because the building is located on a footpath intersection where people 'cut through' the neighborhood.

STORIES OF HOPE
“Without the Oasis of Hope, I don’t believe I would be in church or trying to do right and be a leader. I think I would’ve gone to juvenile court, and I probably wouldn’t know how the true love of God feels.”
