Wow!! That's what it is all about! How proud I am of you, Brenda, and all those children that 'survived' camp and how wonderful that God put you in each others' lives! Definitely, we will keep you all in our prayers.

Tim,

Thank you for all of your hard work before and during this event.

Like you, it only took about 5 minutes for me to be totally hooked!!!

These boys are so awesome. What an amazing opportunity we have to let such a large group of young men know a)they are loved and b)that God has a purpose for their lives.

By showing support and love to them, you are actively changing literally generations of lives.

I look forward to seeing you at the games this season!

I understand your hesitations, and believe me, I would have said the exact same thing only five years ago. For me the one factor that has changed is this: relationship. I'm now privileged enough to see into his life and his limitations ... including not being taught more acceptable (in my culture) ways of dealing with one's problems! I don't know if investing in this kid's life will steer him down a better path, but I am positive that compassion is a GOOD thing.

Nicely put, Jennifer! I grew up in a racially hateful community and resented the ignorance that fueled that sentiment. An ounce of exposure, education and empathy would set free so many souls who perpetuate that even today. I thank God for showing me just how rich I could be from a better understanding, given to me by countless friends over the years. And I pray to God that He will bring peace to those who have not yet received that same gift. My America is that melting pot. A nice, full-bodied stew simmered from countless flavors... not merely a white potato broth.
